My experience includes individual and group community based counseling, crisis counseling, anger management, mindfulness, resilience and de-escalation. My specialties include trauma, anxiety, depression, LGBTQ+ issues and grief and more.
As a child, adolescent and adult counselor, I am passionate about helping others through life's challenges. My goal is to provide a safe space to support growth, transparency, and change. I work with individuals and families to facilitate goals, provide coping skills, and improve overall understanding of how to utilize these in everyday life, school, and home. I utilize several techniques including: Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), TF-CBT, Mindfulness, and Person-Centered.
I am currently a counselor intern completing my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling under the supervision of Dr. John Bradley of Liberty University and Sandra Quast, LPCS of Coastal Haven Counseling. My treatment approaches utilize evidenced-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy to assist clients reframe previous ways of negative thinking. I also incorporate choice therapy which states that we are the only ones to blame for not being happy. Every choice we have ever made, have led us to where we are today. Rational emotive behavior therapy also rewires previous delusional thinking and helps you realize your irrational thoughts. I also like to use person-centered therapy, motivational interviewing,
Together we can brainstorm ideas and strategies that are the most beneficial to guide you to where you want to be. We will focus on the areas of your life that you want to see improvements on and set you up for success. We will work together as a team to decide what plan of action works best for your individual needs.
